MAT Partner Network

Win the contracts
you can't bid alone.

MAT brings Canadian manufacturers, fabricators and contractors together to deliver one project. We carry the bid, the compliance and the contract. Our partners do the work they're best at, get paid on time, and build the public-sector track record that lets them win on their own.

Why partners join

Your capacity.
Our contracts.

Public contracts are often too big, too broad or too paperwork-heavy for one shop to take on. MAT bundles qualified partners into one bid. You focus on production.

01

Paid in 30 days. Guaranteed.

MAT pays partners within 30 days of accepted delivery, even when the government takes longer to pay us. Our cash reserves carry the gap so your cash flow doesn't.

02

Access to bigger work

Federal, provincial and municipal contracts that need multiple trades, national delivery or capacity no single shop has. As part of a MAT bid, your shop can be part of the answer.

03

We carry the paperwork

Bid writing, mandatory forms, integrity declarations, security requirements, insurance schedules, invoicing and contract administration. Handled by MAT.

04

Build your own record

Every completed job earns a written performance reference from MAT, with your scope, values and delivery record. Use it in your own bids when you're ready to compete independently.

05

Steady volume

MAT monitors public solicitations across Canada every day and matches them to partner capabilities. Instead of chasing tenders one by one, you receive qualified work packages.

06

Your business stays yours

Partners remain independent companies with their own customers, brand and bids. Joining the network adds work. It doesn't take any away.

Questions

Before you apply.

Anything else: info@metalandthings.com

Is there a cost to join?

No. There is no fee to apply, no membership fee and no listing fee. MAT earns its margin on the contracts it wins and manages.

Who holds the contract with the government?

MAT is the prime contractor and is accountable to the client. Partners work under a MAT purchase order for their defined scope.

When and how do I get paid?

Within 30 days of the client or MAT accepting your delivery. Payment from MAT doesn't depend on when the government pays MAT.

Can I still bid on my own?

Yes. You remain an independent business. The only restriction is on opportunities MAT brings to you: you won't go around MAT to pursue those directly. The Partner Agreement sets this out.

How are partners chosen for a contract?

By capability fit, region, capacity, price, compliance status and delivery record. Preferred Partners get first call in their category.

Do I need a security clearance?

Only for contracts that require one. Many solicitations have no security requirement. If you already hold Designated Organization Screening or a Facility Security Clearance, tell us. It opens up more work.

Can companies outside British Columbia join?

Yes. We welcome partners across Canada. National reach makes MAT bids stronger.

How is my information protected?

Application documents are stored in a private, access-restricted area of MAT's servers, outside the public website, and are used only to assess and manage the partnership. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time.
